We are seeking a dedicated Legal Support Counsel to implement and manage the administrative and operational functions of our legal department. This role is vital for ensuring efficient document management, supporting legal research, and coordinating internal processes across our subsidiaries. Responsibilities include budgeting, resource allocation, and integrating department technologies to streamline workflows. The ideal candidate will foster collaboration within the support team, driving the legal department’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and Operational Support:
Manage the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the in-house legal department for the holding group.
Oversee the work of paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff to ensure smooth functioning across all subsidiaries.
Team Oversight and Coordination:
Supervise and coordinate the internal processes and workflows within the legal department, ensuring alignment with the needs of each subsidiary.
Foster a collaborative and efficient environment among the support team to enhance productivity across the holding group.
Document Management and Legal Research:
Ensure effective document management systems are in place, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of legal documents across all entities.
Oversee and provide support for legal research activities to assist the legal team in handling diverse legal matters across the group.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
Assist with the preparation and management of the legal department's budget for the entire holding group.
Oversee the allocation of resources, ensuring optimal utilization within the department to support the needs of all subsidiaries.
Technology and Tools Implementation:
Implement and maintain legal department technologies and tools to streamline operations across the holding group.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the department's efficiency and support the legal needs of each subsidiary.
Project Management and Administrative Support:
Provide project management support for legal initiatives and tasks, ensuring successful execution across the holding group.
Assist in managing administrative tasks, ensuring deadlines and goals are met for all legal projects and initiatives.
Efficiency and Effectiveness:
Develop and implement systems and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness across the holding group.
Continuously assess and optimize processes to meet the holding group's and its subsidiaries' evolving legal needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES:
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal department, with at least 3 years in a management role.
Job-specific skills:
Strong understanding of legal processes, document management, and research support.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team across multiple entities.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Experience with budgeting and resource management within a complex organizational structure.
